|Heart Attack Survival|
13th November 2017
Across the UK, there are over 30,000 cardiac arrests outside of hospital each year, but the survival rate is only 1 in 10. The reason for this poor survival rate is simple: not enough people in the UK know CPR. Teaching students lifesaving CPR skills is one way to improve cardiac arrest survival rates across the UK and something that we feel passionate about at Hayle Academy. With the support of British Heart Foundation teaching packs, all KS3 students will receive training in CPR as part of their PSHE curriculum next term. They will have hands on experience and get tuition from trained first aiders within the school in this life-saving skill.
