We are well into the flow of the GCSE exams and the resilience being shown is a credit to the students.

As I write this, they have just completed a 2 ¼ hour English Literature exam having already undertaken maths, geography, physics and Spanish exams this week. These continue after half term for a further two weeks.

Across the rest of the school, students continue to engage themselves in various activities both as part of their studies, and also through extra-curricular activities. To read about such positive opportunities being undertaken across the school shows how committed and flexible our students are.

Whether this is participation in the ProjectAbility tournament, STEM careers event, or the Accelerated Reader achievements, the pride of Hayle is once again on display.

Throughout the last couple of weeks, we have been making new staffing appointments ready for the new academic year.

I will welcome the new staff in future newsletters. We have also just purchased new ICT equipment for the Learning Resource Centre (LRC), display screens for numerous classrooms and a new traversing wall for the junior play area.

These will all be installed throughout the rest of this term and over the summer holidays. All purchases have been based on feedback from student councils. The student voice is strong and influential.

Please enjoy this newsletter and have a good half term. Fingers crossed for the continued nice weather!
