Proud to be Hayle!
We are delighted to announce that Hayle Academy has been rated GOOD by OfSTED in our March 2022 inspection.
Staff and students at Hayle Academy were delighted to receive the final inspection report from Ofsted this week, following an intensive two day school inspection at the end of the spring term. The inspection team looked at every aspect of school life: lessons and learning, pastoral support, behaviour, welfare, bullying, extra-curricular opportunities and tutoring to name a few and were incredibly impressed by phenomenally good provision on offer and the positive momentum of the school.
Head of School, Simon Horner commented, “I am delighted to have received our inspection report, and am incredibly proud of and grateful to all the staff and students at Hayle Academy, as this report is a reflection of a monumental collective effort and years of hard work.
To have taken the school on the journey we have in such a short period is nothing short of phenomenal. I hope that you will agree that this report reflects the impact of incredible hard work that staff and students alike have put in over recent years, and presents the wider community with a really accurate snapshot of the fantastic education provision that we now offer. Of course, this report only represents the end of a chapter for the school and we will not be resting on our laurels. We have some exciting developments in the pipeline, including for September 2022 launching our ‘Broad Horizons’ programme, where all students will take part in ‘collapsed timetable’ opportunity every fortnight as part of the normal school day, getting involved in exciting opportunities to develop their health and wellbeing, develop new and exciting skills, and to volunteer and give something back to the community.
Whether it is mountain biking or yoga, learning first aid and CPR or community gardening, there really will be fantastic opportunities for everyone at the school. As the lead inspector commented to me, “Your students know how to behave and they do it with character. They are proud of their school and want to be involved.” With that attitude, our fantastic staff team and the ongoing support of Truro and Penwith Academy Trust, the sky really is the limit for Hayle Academy!”
Chair of Governors, Mark Arnold added, “This is a fantastic report. To make the progress the school has over the last two years, whilst coping with Covid is remarkable. I am confident that the school has everything in place to continue to develop and flourish.”
Hayle Academy is a small 11-16 school located in a sunny corner of West Cornwall, offering fantastic academic, cultural and extra-curricular opportunities to all students. Despite our growing popularity, we still have a few places available for September 2022.
