Exams

Hayle Academy – in the Top Ten best performing secondary schools in Cornwall for Progress 8.

Hayle Academy students (our outstanding Class of 2022) have achieved a fantastic Top Ten place for Progress. In the recently published Department for Education information, Hayle Academy is the eighth top performing secondary school in Cornwall for Progress 8.  We are immensely proud of all our students who worked so hard to achieve their qualifications: being in the Top Ten in Cornwall is a fantastic recognition of all the hard work of our students and staff. We are particularly proud of the progress made by our disadvantaged students who achieved a Top 6th place for progress.

These results mean Hayle Academy students have outperformed those in most Cornish schools!

The class of 2022 at Hayle Academy

Amongst the many, many success stories, our top performers include, Gemma A, whose results included six GCSEs at Grades 9 and four at Grade 8; Holly J whose results included four GCSEs at Grade 9 and three at Grade 8; William B whose results included three GCSEs at Grade 9 and three at Grade 8 and Daisy Y whose results included three GCSEs at Grade 9 and five at Grade 8. We congratulate each and every student on their success and achievements.

* Progress is measured using Progress 8 and indicates how much a secondary school has helped pupils progress between Year 6 national tests and Year 11.

Mrs Melissa Lock

Headteacher

“Our staff team are incredibly proud of our student’s accomplishments.

Our students showed such maturity and determination in spite of all the challenges they have faced as a result of the pandemic.

Having achieved these fantastic qualifications, in the face of adversity, our students really can go on to even greater successes in the future. Well done!”

Mr James Woodward

Deputy Head Teacher

“We are so proud of all our students’ results and of the huge efforts they put in, supported by our dedicated staff team.  I am especially proud of the progress of our 19 students with special educational needs who performed exceptionally well; gaining results that are much better than national figures for students with SEN.  Our students’ achievements are exceptional and I would like to thank our amazing teachers, parents and families as well as our dedicated SEN team”
